About this initiative
Let us be your career mentor
We’ve heard from people like you that one of the most helpful parts of exploring a career in natural resources is having a mentor to help you on your career journey. Think of the Careers in Natural Resources Initiative as that mentor and helpful guide!
Why should I care about careers in natural resources?
Help the environment
Natural resources allow us to have clean water, air and a healthier planet. These professionals manage our natural resources to protect public health, mitigate disasters and meet the demands of growing populations. Sound rewarding? It is!
Make a difference
Passionate about a career where you can make a difference? We need people like you whose jobs are to conserve and manage these natural resources for their biological or economic value, their natural beauty and long-term benefits to society.
Join a community
Natural resource issues require collaboration and commitment from all. You can play a part!
You don’t have to love being outdoors to work for the outdoors. You can work with computers, data and technology, public relations, administration, marketing or hiring staff and so much more.
One thing people who work in natural resources have in common?
A passion for making the world a better place.
Initiative partners
In partnership with the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE) and the Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA), The Careers in Natural Resources Initiative is the outcome of a partnership with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, educators and private industry to help youth and young professionals secure a sustainable career in natural resources.
